The company started in 1976 and has grown to be probably the biggest truly independent paint merchant in Edinburgh and the Lothians servicing both the trade and retail market.
Being independent we can offer impartial advice on any of your decorating needs.
We do not employ our own painters and decorators and therefore are not in competition with our trade customers. If you need a painter we can usually recommend someone to you.

FREE COLOUR MATCHING
At Russell Paints we can colour match most colours. Bring us a sample of the colour you want and we can create a new colour to match your needs. Two tinting systems at customer Paints allow us to tint 1000’s of colours in Macphersons, Permoglaze and Crown paints plus Designer ranges from Paint Library and The Little Greene Paint Co. while you wait.
We have a Kalon system tinting Johnstone’s paints from stock again in 1000’s of colours and a Jotun machine tinting Jotun and Butinox products in opaque finishes and woodstains.
As well as the goods listed on our site Russell Paints can supply a range of other manufacturers products. If there is something you are looking for and it isn’t mentioned here give us a call.
Both branches carry a comprehensive range of wallpaper pattern books from many of the top manufacturers. Pattern books are available on loan from both branches. We also stock woodchip and top quality lining paper (not recycled) from MAV in grades from 800 to 1700. Ceiling centers and coving from Copleys and Artline can be ordered for you and are usually with us in one or two days.
